The 2025 season has started with the first round for Tecnicar by Amtog. The team has started with a lot of motivation and renewed batteries a year that looks exciting.
Jerez hosted the first round of the Spanish Winter Championship. Sasha Van’t Pad Bosch and Andrej Petrovic qualified in the top 20 of the grid. As the lights went out for the first race of the year, both progressed to finish 18th and 14th respectively.
Later, the sprint race produced even better results. Sasha Van’t Pad Bosh repeated his result, 18th, while Andrej Petrovic came close to the top 10.
Wiktor Dobrzanski was unable to take the start on this first day of competition.
Sunday was the big day. With everything they had learned on the previous day, our drivers took to the track with a lot of ambition and the results came soon. In qualifying, Wiktor Dobrzanski was 17th, Sasha Van’t Pad Bosh 10th and Andrej Petrovic achieved a great third position that allowed him to start in second row for the last race of the weekend.
In the race, Andrej Petrovic made a smart and aggressive defense, trying to keep that podium position. Finally, in an intense fight with his rivals, he finished in sixth position. Wiktor Dobrzanski was 18th and Sasha Van’t Pad Bosh 11th.
Sasha Van’t Pad Bosh: “It was a good weekend, qualifying started well, we had pace. We were always in the top3 and only at the end, on the last lap, we finished 10th. In the last race a car spun in front of me and I had to go to the gravel. Despite that I came back up.”
Wiktor Dobrzanski: “The pace on the test day was very good. However I was sick on Saturday and could not compete. In the last race of the weekend I gained 4 positions but on the last lap someone crashed into me.”
Andrej Petrovic: “I had the first position for almost the whole qualifying session but in the end two rivals did a better lap. In the race, when I dropped to fourth I saw that, on the penultimate lap, I had my last chance to try for the podium so I went for it. It didn’t work out in the end. Although it’s not what we wanted the pace was there so we’ll see what we can do in the future.”
