Bad luck prevented the team’s improvement from being reflected in the results. Lorenzo Castillo showed his talent again with a remarkable comeback, Wiktor Dobrzański continued with his adaptation and got closer to the mid-range while our mechanics did their best to overcome the mechanical adversities.

The Formula Winter Series faced the second round of the calendar in Valencia, at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Tecnicar arrived with an extra motivation, as it was the team’s home race.

For this occasion Lorenzo Castillo and Wiktor Dobrzański were back in the Tecnicar line-up, after a solid performance in Jerez de la Frontera.

The weekend started with the usual practice sessions before the first qualifying of the weekend. This was marked by the disqualification of the entire grid due to track limits, which forced the stewards to determine the grid for the first race based on the practice results.
In an extensive and evenly matched grid, our drivers finished the first race in the top 30, highlighting the great comeback of Lorenzo Castillo, who gained 10 positions on track.

The second qualifying placed Lorenzo Castillo in P28 while Wiktor Dobrzański continued his adaptation and finished in P36.

From that position, the Polish driver managed to move up six positions to finish again in the top 30, something he would repeat in the last race of the weekend, finishing in P29 and continuing his adaptation to the category.

Sunday was complicated for Lorenzo Castillo. Our mechanics did a great job to prepare the car for the third race after a mechanical problem was detected. He had a good pace and gained positions until a contact with two other cars forced him to end his race in Valencia.

Wiktor Dobrzański:

“A lot of good and bad moments this weekend, but better than Jerez. We improved a lot and got closer to the leading riders. Now we are fighting with other riders so I am happy about this weekend at Tecnicar’s home race.

Lorenzo Castillo:

“It was an unlucky weekend. We had a strange situation with the track limits but we were able to move up 10 positions during the first race. We were unlucky with the mechanical problem in race two and, in race three, two drivers squeezed me.
